Introduction to NASDA Workshop

The Intro to NASDA Workshop will consist of Presentation/Lecture and Paws On Work (for working spot teams). Explanation of events and levels, qualifying and titling, deductions and scoring, and the basics of handling and support in NASDA. All dogs will be introduced to a Level I search of all events (Shed Dog, Lost Item Recovery, Trailing & Locating and Urban Locating).

3 Hour Workshop – 8am-11am  Saturday, November 18, 2023.  NASDA Saturday trials start at 11:30 a.m.
Presentation/Lecture:
  • NASDA Events, Levels, Points, Titles
  • Trial Regulations and Allowed Equipment
  • Class and Level Specifics
  • Introduction to NASDA ‘handling’

Paws On:
  • Dogs and Handlers will be introduced to the 4 NASDA Events at the introductory level
  • Trailing and Locating
  • Urban Locating
  • Shed Dog
  • Lost Item Recovery

Handlers may work different dogs but may not work more than one dog in each event (T&L, UL, SD, LI) per workshop without an additional entry.

This workshop is located at Central Florida K-9 (Eustis, FL) during the November 2023 NASDA trial.  The Saturday trial will start after the conclusion of this workshop.  Day of Show entries for the trial are allowed; space permitting.

Bring a chair for yourself; water, snacks and treats/toys for you and your dog.  Bring a "long line" of 10' - 30' and a flat buckle collar or non-restrictive harness for your dog.
