IF NEEDED: Instructions for etransfer
To perform an eTransfer, you typically need access to online banking or a mobile banking app offered by your financial institution. The specific steps may vary slightly depending on the bank you use, but here's a general guide:
Set up online banking: If you haven't already, you'll need to enroll in online banking with your bank. This usually involves creating an account and setting up a username and password. Some banks may require additional authentication methods, such as security questions or two-factor authentication.
Log in to your online banking account: Visit your bank's website or open the mobile banking app, and enter your login credentials to access your account.
Locate the eTransfer feature: Look for an option or tab within your online banking account or mobile app specifically for eTransfers. It may be labeled as "eTransfer," "Interac eTransfer," or something similar. Click on or select this option to proceed.
Choose the recipient: Provide the necessary details of the person or business you want to send money to. This typically includes their name (WBPS), email address (donations@wreckbeach.org), and the amount you wish to transfer (minimum $5.00).
Select the account and amount: Choose the bank account from which you want to send the money. If you have multiple accounts with your bank, make sure you select the correct one. Enter the amount you wish to transfer. Some banks may also offer an option to add a message or memo for the recipient.
Review and confirm: Double-check all the details you have entered, including the recipient's information, transfer amount, and any message you included. Ensure that everything is accurate before proceeding.
Security question (optional): Depending on your bank's security measures, you may be prompted to create a security question and answer. This additional step adds an extra layer of security for the recipient to access the funds.
NOTE: For WBPS please have the security question say "Which beach?" and the answer be "Wreck".
Complete the transfer: Once you've reviewed and confirmed all the information, submit the transfer request. The funds will be deducted from your account, and your bank will initiate the eTransfer process.
Notify the recipient: The recipient will receive an email or text notification, depending on the method you provided, informing them that they have been sent money. They will need to follow the instructions in the notification to accept the transfer.
Recipient acceptance: The recipient will typically be directed to their own bank's online banking platform or mobile app to accept the transfer. They may need to provide the answer to the security question, if applicable. Once accepted, the funds will be deposited into their account.
