About Mrs. Rhoades and Adventures in Learning Tutoring and Kindergarten Prep
My name is Katelynn Rhoades, and I graduated from Northwest Nazarene University with my BA in Elementary Education and an emphasis in Reading Language Arts in 2017. I spent 5 years teaching within the Twin Falls School District, teaching both 2nd grade (3 years) and Title 1 Reading Intervention for grades K-5 (2 years). This past year I taught both 2nd grade and reading intervention at Immanuel Lutheran School and loved it!
My passion is developing the fundamentals of reading within my students in order for them to gain the skills needed to become a successful reader. I also love learning along side of my students, and I strive to model a love for learning that inspires my students to become lifelong learners. I started Adventures in Learning Tutoring and Kindergarten Prep as a new opportunity for me to truly dive into my passion and help students develop a love for learning while demonstrating daily growth through learning and adventure.
About Reading Club/ Tutoring
As many of you know, I will be on maternity leave at the start of the school year, but I am looking forward to beginning our after school reading club (tutoring) on November 7th! Students will be placed into groups based on their current grade level and academic abilities. We will emphasis students' individual reading needs in an effort to gain the reading skills necessary to become successful readers. The reading club school year will run November- May for a total of 24 weeks of instruction. There is a monthly fee of $145 which considers any days off or holidays during our November- May time frame. Sessions will begin immediately afterschool from 3:00- 4:00 and another session will follow from 4:00-5:00. Lunch buddies will begin immediately after 1/2 day kindergarten.
Please fill out the form below to register for our afterschool Reading Club or Lunch Buddies, but keep in mind that registration does not guarantee a spot, as it will depend on the level needed for the majority of students.
