LESSON DETAILS
Lessons will run from the week of September 9-November 11. There will be no lessons the week of October 28.
GROUP LESSONS
Skill level: Beginner. Our Group Lessons are designed for kids with little to no riding experience, although we welcome riders of all levels. Our goal is to teach basic horsemanship and these classes are intended to be an introduction to basic horse safety and rudimental riding skills. These reduced-price lessons are for children who might not be able to participate in weekly lessons in another setting and so if your children are currently enrolled at another facility we ask that you leave the spots for those who might not have that option. Thank you for your understanding in this matter.
Ages: 8-14 yrs. Please keep in mind that we are unable to place your child in Group Lessons unless they meet the minimum age requirements.
Schedule: Group Lessons (ages 8-14): Fridays, 12-1 pm.
We encourage you to sign up for the waiting list if the date you are interested in is full. If we have cancellations, we will fill the spots from the waiting list in the order the requests are received.
Cost: $80 ($10 per week)
Payment: Payment can be made in advance at
http://www.myegiving.com/wildonesyouthranch (please choose the FALL LESSONS category) or by cash/check on the first day of lessons. We are unable to make change so please have the exact amount on hand if paying by cash. Refunds are not given for missed classes or for canceling after the session has already begun. PLEASE DO NOT MAKE A PAYMENT UNTIL YOU HAVE RECEIVED AN EMAIL CONFIRMING YOUR CHILD'S ENROLLMENT.
PARTICIPATION GUIDELINES
1.
Sickness policy: . If your child (or another household member) is ill they and any other siblings who also attend lessons or camps should stay home. We thank you for your vigilance in this matter.
2.
Riders must be able to get on and off the horse (with a mounting block) unassisted. Riders should be able to support their own body weight on one foot.
3.
Riders must bring their own water bottle, hand sanitizer, and sunscreen (as necessary). We typically do not have water available at the farm.
4 For your child's protection, Wild Ones requires that he or she wear long pants, closed-toe shoes (boots), and short or long- sleeved shirts (no sleeveless, crop, or tank tops please) to our camp sessions. IF YOUR CHILD WEARS TENNIS SHOES or RAIN BOOTS they must have a built-up heel (no flat soles). Please send seasonal clothing as necessary (sweatshirts, jackets, rain gear, etc.).
5. For maximum safety, we require horseback riding helmets for each child. These helmets are much different than bicycle helmets and must be specifically designated for equine use. If your child does not have an equine grade riding helmet we will provide one for his or her use during each lesson.
PARENT TIPS
1. Parents, guardians, or designated adults must remain at the farm for the duration of their child's lesson We ask that you remain in the parking area after check-in unless invited by staff members to view the lesson in a different area. . If you have any questions about this policy, please feel free to inquire with one of the staff members when you sign your child in on the first day.
2. We ask that only one person bring the rider(s) to the check-in area. All others must remain in the car during check-in with the exception of babies or toddlers that cannot be left unattended. Young children must remain in a parent's arms or in a stroller, carrier, backpack, etc. at all times. If a staff member indicates you are allowed to view the lesson from a different area, please make sure all children are supervised and remain in the same area with you. .
