Elected Officers

President - Responsible for assuring that MGE PTA is run in accordance with local, state and national bylaws; works in cooperation with the administration of both the school and district; attends monthly district meetings; oversees all PTA activities

1st VP of Programs - Acts as aide to the president; presides in absence of the president; and oversees all PTA programs

2nd VP of Fundraising - Oversees fundraising events to obtain the necessary income required to implement proposed PTA projects; assists and supports the various fundraising committees as needed.

3rd VP of Membership - Chairs the membership committee to solicit, record and register PTA members; chairs Texas Life Membership Committee

4th VP of Volunteers - Organizes, implements and oversees all volunteer activities; keeps records on volunteer hours

Treasurer - Responsible for custody of all funds; keeps books of accounts and records; makes disbursements; presents a financial statement at all executive and general meetings; submits books for the audit committee at the end of the fiscal year

Secretary - Attends all PTA meetings and keeps accurate records of meetings; gets approval of meeting minutes and submits a record of all minutes at the end of the year

Communication - Maintains the PTA’s Facebook and Instagram page and updates posts as needed

Council Delegate (2) - Attends monthly Katy Council of PTAs evening meetings and reports back to MGE PTA (2 needed)

Fall Event - Plans the fun fall event

Fifth Grade Coordinator - Oversees all committees for 5th grade events; designs and orders 5th grade T-shirts

Grif "Fun" Run - Plans and oversees spring fitness fundraiser

Griffin Greeters - Oversees the Griffin Greeters program for new families

GrizzFest - Coordinates and organizes the fall carnival, raffle, T-shirts and auction

Homeroom Coordinator - Oversees grade level coordinators, homeroom parents, fall and spring parties

Hospitality - Provides refreshments for meetings and special events, plan treats for teachers and staff

Parliamentarian - Oversees that procedures and rules during meetings are followed

Red Ribbon Week - Helps to decorate and plan events for Red Ribbon Week in October (along with VP Programs)

Spirit Wear - Designs spirit wear; organizes ordering; coordinates sales and distribution of spirit wear

Spring Event - Plans the fun spring event

Web Page - Maintains and updates the PTA’s web page

Yearbook - Plans and creates yearbook for school year, organizes volunteers for photography and marketing

Arts in Education/Reflections - Oversees the Reflections art program (done in the fall)

Art - Assist the Art Teacher(s) with various projects throughout the year

Birthday Marquee - Collects marquee orders throughout the year from the webstore

Bulletin Boards - Works with team leaders to plan themed bulletin boards for the main hallways (done in the summer)

Environment - Maintains the patio flower beds and oversees outdoor projects

3rd Grade Musical (Fall) - Assists the music teachers in organizing the 3rd grade Veteran’s program in November

4th Grade Play (Spring) - Assists the music teachers in organizing the 4th grade play in the spring

5th Grade Graduation - Coordinates volunteers, decorations and snacks for the graduation ceremony in May

5th Grade Party - Plans the 5th grade end of the year party

5th Grade Super Bowl - Works with PE teachers to organize decorations, volunteers and logistics for the fall football game

5th Grade Choir - Assist the choir teachers with the 5th grade choir

CAP GLC - Oversees and works with CAP homeroom parents and coordinates with grade level lead teachers to plan school wide and grade specific events.

Pre-K GLC - Oversees and works with pre-K homeroom parents and coordinates with grade level lead teachers to plan school wide and grade specific events.

K GLC - Oversees and works with Kindergarten homeroom parents and coordinates with grade level lead teachers to plan school wide and grade specific events.

1st GLC - Oversees and works with 1st grade homeroom parents and coordinates with grade level lead teachers to plan school wide and grade specific events.

2nd GLC - Oversees and works with 2nd grade homeroom parents and coordinates with grade level lead teachers to plan school wide and grade specific events.

3rd GLC - Oversees and works with 3rd grade homeroom parents and coordinates with grade level lead teachers to plan school wide and grade specific events.

4th GLC - Oversees and works with 4th grade homeroom parents and coordinates with grade level lead teachers to plan school wide and grade specific events.

Junior Achievement - Organizes volunteers for JA in all classrooms or organizes Career Day

Library Coordinator - Helps to train volunteers; coordinates special events, such as book fairs with the librarian

Literacy Library - Shelves and catalogs books in the literacy library

Music - Assist the Music Teacher(s) with various projects throughout the year. Help the 3rd grade musical, 4th grade program and 5th grade choir coordinators if they need any assistance.

School Supplies - Coordinates ordering, sales and distribution of school supplies

Sister School - Works with assistant principal and VP Programs to plan events for our sister school

Teacher Appreciation Week - Coordinates the activities and luncheon for staff appreciation (May)

Teachers Birthdays - Coordinates delivery of treats to staff for their birthday (done monthly)

Trunk or Treat - Overseas and plans the trunk or treat event in October

Watch D.O.G.S. - Coordinates and schedules Watch D.O.G.S. volunteers

Webstore - Adds and removes items from the webstore and sends reports to chairpersons

Workroom - Coordinates, schedules, and trains volunteers for copying and laminating
