Aloha and welcome to Hale Halawai ‘Ohana O Hanalei. Our purpose is to enrich our community by providing services and activities on the North Shore of Kaua’i. 

The goal of the Hanalei Farmers' Market is to provide fresh produce, food, and Kaua’i made products to our community and visitors. The success of our market depends on the quality of our products, the professionalism and aloha of our staff/market vendors and our committed customers.

Additional priority is given to the impact of the product on the overall market – quality, diversity – not offering what several others already sell. T-shirts and tote bags are not permitted as it conflicts with the nonprofit fundraiser booth offerings. 

Treat Hanalei Farmers’ Market Staff, fellow vendors, and customers with genuine courtesy and respect at all times. Follow the Communication Channels guide. Listen to and closely follow instructions from Hanalei Farmers Market and Parking Staff, Maintain safety awareness at all times. Attend vendor meetings and share solutions. HHOOH and the Hanalei Farmers Market are a drug free and alcohol free zone. If you see anyone smoking or drinking please notify Market Staff promptly. Children must be supervised by a responsible adult at all times. No pets allowed, with the exception of certified service animals.

Arrival and Set Up: Drive 5mph maximum on entry road and facility grounds. There may be times when a vendor will be asked to proceed even slower and that request should be adhered to immediately Food vendors must arrive before 8:45am. The entrance closes promptly at 9:00am to all vendors and vehicles. Park in spaces designated by the market staff. Set up safely in assigned space. It is required that you set up and operate inside designated space. Signs also need to be within your space. Only 10x10 tents permitted. Permanent vendors are guaranteed a spot at the market but location in the market is not guaranteed. We have large plastic tables for vendor use at an additional $5/ day. These are first come first serve. Confirm table availability with the Farmers’ Market Manager prior to use. Small tables are not for market use. STAKE YOUR TENTS/UMBRELLAS AND WEIGH THEM DOWN. Acceptable staking includes; cement or sand filled buckets, heavy metal weights etc. Please check with the Farmers' Market Manager for approval of other staking items. Park your vehicles in specified spots.  NO VEHICLE MOVEMENT ON FACILITY GROUNDS ALLOWED DURING MARKET *
During the Market: Respect private property and do not cross roped or coned off areas. Sales occur between 9:00am and end promptly at 12:00pm. No sales are to be made after 12:00pm. Booth space cannot be passed to or operated by unapproved vendor applicants without written permission from the Farmers’ Market Manager. *
Market Closing: Clean your area before exiting. If your booth has generated rubbish, you are responsible for its removal. Please do not leave it for Farmers’ Market Staff to dispose of. STAY PARKED WITH ENGINES OFF UNTIL MARKET STAFF SIGNAL YOU TO BEGIN MOVING. Farmers who are packed up & ready to drive out will be signaled by the Farmers’ Market Manager to leave first. Once the majority of farmers are gone, parking staff will open up the artisan and food parking area and direct traffic out.  Saturdays; Vendors must exit grounds by no later than 1:30pm. *
Vendor Attendance: Consistent attendance is required to keep your space. Vendors are allowed three (3) FREE days per calendar year in which you will not be charged for not being at market. Please communicate with the Farmers’ Market Manager when you would like to use one of your FREE days. Planned absences, paid upon return, are allowed for up to a total of three (3) weeks and need to be approved in advance by the Farmers' Market Manager. No Call/No Show for two (2) weeks will result in losing your designated spot as a vendor and you must re-apply. Vendors are allowed no more than four (4) absences due to illnesses per calendar year. If an illness/injury persists a verifiable doctors' note will hold your spot. Exceptions for emergencies or special circumstances need to be communicated and agreed upon with the Farmers’ Market Manager. All absences must be given to Farmers' Market Manager by 2:00pm on Friday before the market. *
Vendor Fees: Payment for your booth is due during the market every week (this is subject to change). The Farmers' Market Manager and/or Staff will come by your booth during market to collect the payment and will provide you with a receipt. Farmer: $25 per week. Artisan/Food: $35 per week. *
Market Cancelling Procedures: In the event that we must cancel the market, the decision will be made by the Farmers Market Manager. Safety is our number one priority and we will only cancel market due to impending inclement weather or other circumstance that may put the market, vendors, and attendees at risk or in jeopardy. We will do our best to notify all vendors with as much lead time as possible, however, due to the uncertainty of certain situations, we reserve the right to cancel the market up until 6:00am the morning of the market. If it is suspected that the market MAY be canceled, we will post a notice on our Facebook/Instagram page that there is a likelihood of cancellation and that vendors should plan accordingly. If a final decision to cancel the market is made, we will post the cancellation notice on our Facebook/Instagram page. Farmers Market staff will also contact all vendors and notify them of cancellation.

Vendor Dismissal: Hale Halawai may revoke permission to allow a vendor to participate at the Hanalei Farmers Market at any time. This removal may be done verbally or in writing. Under certain circumstances, a written notification warning will be given. *
List ALL items for sale in your booth
For purchased items, please provide the name and the location from where it was purchased, the contact information, location made, health permit number and expiration date, and a copy of the grower’s Department of Health Certificate or Plaque.
Communication Channels: Please first reach out to the Market Manager to discuss any concerns, challenges or provide suggestions via the suggestion form. Please detail your issue and contact info on a suggestion form and place in the lock box on the lanai outside the office. Next, you may reach the Market Manager via phone 808-826-1011 or email farmersmarket@halehalawai.orgIf you are unable to resolve your issues via suggestion form, email or phone, you may then make an appointment with the Market Manager and you may also request the Office Manager to attend. Please provide your phone number and describe your issue/suggestion in detail on a suggestion form, place it in the lock box and a Hale Halawai staff member will reach out to you to set a meeting time.If, after following the above protocol, the issue is not resolved, you may request a meeting with the Market Manager, Office Manager and Executive Director by placing a request in the lock box on the lanai. Any unresolved issues after reasonable attempts to resolve them must be placed in writing and submitted to the Executive Director to take to the Board of Directors. ***Please refrain from discussing non-emergency issues during the market with the Market Manager. The Market Manager is working on Saturday and must run the market. However, you may reach the Market Manager outside of market time to discuss any concerns or suggestions. Please always be respectful and be prepared to offer solutions. Always notify the Market Manager immediately for emergency situations. Please allow ample time for responses from Hale Halawai as we operate on a part-time staff. By signing below, I understand and agree to comply with the above stated communication channels *
