Diversity Action Plan Campus Survey
This survey provides the WOU campus community an opportunity provide feedback on goals and priorities related to justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion. It has been created by the University Diversity and Inclusion Advisory Committee (UDIAC). We want to know what you think should be included in the Diversity Action Plan. This is not an official campus climate survey but will be very helpful in shaping UDIAC's recommendations to the WOU Board of Trustees.  ESTIMATED TIME TO COMPLETE: 10 minutes.

SURVEY WILL CLOSE FOR RESPONSES ON MARCH 19TH AT 11:59PM

Background Information
Who/what is UDIAC?
The University Diversity and Inclusion Advisory Committee (UDIAC) is a presidential advisory committee charged with receiving, developing, and submitting recommendations related to diversity, equity, accessibility, and inclusion across the University enterprise and aligned with the strategic plan, Forward Together. Diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility are core institutional values, which in turn, cultivate mutual respect, open inquiry, academic integrity, intellectual inquiry, free expression and a climate that promotes community and civility.  As an institution of higher education, WOU recognizes the educational benefits of building and sustaining a diverse, equitable, and inclusive community that upholds academic freedom and the robust exchange of ideas by all stakeholders.

What is the Diversity Action Plan (DAP)?
The DAP guides the campus on how to enact the Boards Statement. It addresses how we follow and achieve the Board of Trustee's diversity directives.

Why are we asking for this feedback?
One of UDIAC’s main responsibilities is to create (and update) a University Diversity Action Plan, by working with stakeholders, that articulates a vision for sustaining and nurturing WOU’s value of diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility. The WOU Strategic Plan, Forward Together, specifically states: “Equity and inclusion; a fundamental basis in human diversity; appreciation for the complexity of the world; strength drawn from our variety of  backgrounds, abilities, cultural experiences, identities, knowledge domains and means of expression.”

What are we going to do with this information?
Collect feedback broadly, from as many people as possible, so we may get a representative image of the community priorities. UDIAC’s intention is to gather this feedback and synthesize it into key priorities under the broader areas modeled by the Board of Trustees statement. Once UDIAC has finalized its Diversity Plan language recommendations, it will be submitted to the Board of Trustees for review.
