GOLD Mentor Program Application
The GOLD Mentoring Program is designed to provide mentorships and guidance to students seeking opportunities to learn and discover a brighter future, both personally and professionally, by connecting with our community through the GOLD Mentoring Program. The program helps bridge the gap by providing diverse, talented, trained adult mentors and role models who work alongside teachers, school staff and local industry to support student success.

Mentoring is time spent with a caring, older person who understands your goals. The GOLD Mentoring Program provides both one-on-one and group mentoring opportunities. Our Mentors consists of leading community members, business owners, and school personnel who volunteer their time to help a student learn and discover a brighter future. Assigned mentors visit students on campus once a week for at least 30 minutes for the entire school year. Mentoring pairs build a relationship that works to enhance the growth and development of their mentee. Mentors are not there to “fix” students, rather they are there to help students reach and discover their fullest potential.

The Gold Mentoring Program provides students an adult mentor who can meet them for at least 30 minutes per week on the students’ home campus. The Mentor’s job is to help the young person define individual goals and find ways to achieve these goals. Since the expectations of each child will vary, the job of the mentor is to encourage the positive development of the young person. By sharing fun activities and conversation, a mentor encourages positive choices and promotes high self-esteem.

All mentors complete a formal training and undergo a criminal background check before they are allowed to work with youth. In order for your son/daughter to be considered for this opportunity, we need you to complete the attached Student Application and return it to your campus point of contact; or, you can submit your application to the contacts listed below:
