Are you an ordained PC(USA) woman serving in a part-time ministry context? Would you like to share your experience as part of a grant-funded research project?
As we emerge from the pandemic, with part-time being touted as the "new normal," I want to research women who are serving in part-time and/or bivocational ministry roles. Women are already doing part-time/bivocational ministry and have been for a while. I have only ever worked in part-time ministry positions- 14 years in ordained ministry and almost a decade prior to ordination.
If you would like to share your story- or stories- of part-time ministry, please consider filling out this form and scheduling an interview. I am conducting interviews throughout 2023. I estimate the time commitment to be about 60 minutes for the interview.
To participate, I'm asking that you are ordained as a Minister of the Word and Sacrament (Teaching Elder) in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) denomination. I have found in my research that the stories of women in ministry transcend denominational lines. However, because this is a research grant, I need to be able to navigate only one system. As an ordained PC(USA) woman, this is the system I know.
I am currently a bivocational pastor, working in congregational ministry (15 hours/week) and growing Diakonos Solutions. If you have questions, or would like to contact me directly, please email me at susan@diakonossolutions.com.
Blessings,
Susan
