End of Day Proposed SSP Schedule Change for Second Semester: Staff Input Survey
NPHS staff:
Based on feedback thus far from many different stakeholders, we have made adjustments to our 2nd Semester Proposed Schedule Change. This proposal has become known as the "NPHS 3rd Quarter SSP Pilot." Please take a minute to complete the below survey: We look at all feedback and we will be discussing this at an upcoming staff meeting.        Thank you.

The purpose of our Student Support Program (SSP) is to provide students with opportunities for academic support, as well as enrichment activities, to support learning. Currently, teachers meet with SSP classes three times a week (Tue - Thu) and provide support to all students. Here's the current SSP schedule:
In order to better help students with schoolwork, we are interested in knowing what staff think about a change to the bell schedule SSP structure for 2nd semester. Here's how it would work: Every Tuesday, all students attend SSP, receive important information, and have their course grades checked on PowerSchool. Those students with Ds or Fs will continue to attend their SSP class (or some similar configuration) on Wednesday and Thursday to get help. Those students with no Ds or Fs will be given a pass allowing them the option on Wednesday and Thursday of either attending SSP, attending a study hall, open gym, or leaving campus (this means these students could leave school at 1:37 pm on Wed & Thu with parent permission). Here's the New Proposed Bell Schedule for 2nd Semester:

Do you think we should keep the current bell schedule or change to the new proposed schedule? *
For the new SSP proposal, student grades would be checked every Tuesday. Those students with no Ds or Fs could be dismissed from their last class at 1:37 pm on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Do you think this would be a better service for students than the current schedule provides? *
Do you believe students would be more motivated to keep/bring grades up if it meant school could end for them at 1:37 pm on Wednesdays and Thursdays? *
For students with Ds and Fs, do you think they would benefit more (receive better intervention assistance on Wed/Thu) under this new proposed bell schedule than the current schedule? *
If students earned a shorter school day on Wednesdays and Thursdays by having no Ds or Fs, where do you think most would go? *
