Standard of Conduct:
As a member of the Namaspa team, you promise to create a safe space for all students to be at home and at ease, where they can be themselves and feel accepted for who they are.
You pledge to see the divine light within others at the studio and representing Namaspa in the community, and to treat them accordingly; with respect, love and compassion. If you have an issue with another person, your first course of action will be to speak directly to him/her about it in an accountable fashion to find a peaceful solution.
You pledge to work and interact with others in accordance with the ethics of yoga practice, in particular:
Nonviolence: You will practice acceptance and compassion for yourself and others, ensuring that your actions are kind and helpful, with an awareness to avoid creating injury or destruction of any kind.
Non-lying: You commit to speaking words derived from honesty, truth and love and not speaking words that derive from deception, assumption, exaggeration or creating or furthering gossip.
Non-stealing: You commit not to take anything that has not been freely given, including the time, resources and possessions of others.
Non-harassing: You will not use your energy to harass, exploit or intimidate anyone at any time.
Non-grasping: You will embrace the continuous flow of change in our community and embrace and encourage this for yourself and others around you.
Not living the Standard of Conduct:
All issues involving the Standard of Conduct will be investigated by the Resolution Committee with the ambassador being informed of the decision. If a teacher is found (by the Resolution Committee) to have not followed the Standard of Conduct, action will be taken; including loss of ambassador privileges, suspension or termination. The Resolution Committee is composed of Deven Sisler and 3 other teachers.
