2024 Waldport Wednesday Market Application

Waldport Market will be open on Wednesday, May 1, 2024 - September 25, 2024 held at the Waldport Community Center parking lot, 265 NW Alsea Hwy 34 Waldport, Oregon 97394.

Applications are available at the Waldport Business Centre (blue and yellow building) located at 135 US Hwy 101 Waldport, OR.

$26.00 Application Fee and forms are to be submitted online or $25 brought to Waldport Business Centre, 135 US Hwy 101 Waldport, OR.

Daily Space Fee paid in advance is $15.00 for a 10 x 10 space, additional space will be pro-rated. $1 charge is added when paying fees on-line.  Daily Space Fee paid on event day is $20.

Vendors who pay in advance must provide a 72-hour notice if they do not plan to set up on a given day. If the notice is not given, the daily space rental is non-refundable. This is so the market management will be able to move vendors around closing spaces between vendors accordingly.

• Market hours 10 am-3 pm  Set up begins at 8 am. 

ARRIVAL 

  1. Vendors are expected to arrive & unload one hour prior to opening.
  2. Vendors vehicles must be unloaded, then move to a location not interfering with the event by 8:30 am.
  3. Vendors must be ready to sell upon opening of the market. NO LATE ARRIVALS

VENDOR PARKING

  1. Vendor parking locations: 
    1. the baseball diamond behind the post office
    2. in the front or rear parking lot at the Fire Department
    3. at Joy Garden parking on Bay Street and Hwy 34
    4. Hemlock Street or Cedar Street
  2. Vendors MAY NOT park in the Community Center Parking stalls for any reason.
  3. Vendors MAY NOT park on Hwy 34 
  4. Vendors MAY NOT park on the side parking lot at the Fire Department
  5. Vendors parking in prohibited areas will be dropped from the market.

DEPARTURE 

  1. EARLY BOOTH BREAKDOWNS ARE NOT ALLOWED. 
  2. In case of emergency, including when an early departure is required, vendors must contact the market management. 
  3. If customers are in the market area at the close of the market, vendors may choose to remain in the area to complete transactions. 
  4. All vendors must leave the allotted space clean at the end of the day. 
  5. Vendors break down and pack up their booth items first before driving into the market area to load up.

MARKET RULES 

  1. Only Vendors who grow their own produce, hand craft their own merchandise, bake their own goods or represent a marketed brand will be allowed to sell at the Waldport Market. 
  2. Garage sale or used items CANNOT be sold at the market. 
  3. Be considerate of fellow vendors and customers. 
  4. Disrespect or negative comments will not be tolerated. Report unprofessional behaviors to the market management. The Management can request vendors to leave the market immediately if behavior deemed unprofessional. 
  5. Vendors behaving in a manner that may endanger the public or other vendor(s) should be reported immediately to the market management and the person will be asked to leave immediately.  Space rental fees will not be refunded. 
  6. Selling expired products is not allowed.  Vendors attempting to sell outdated products will be asked to leave immediately.
  7. Vendors are not allowed to consume alcohol or drugs while on market grounds. 
  8. NO SMOKING is allowed in the market area. When taking a smoking break, vendors are expected to pick up used cigarette filters and place them in the garbage can- cigarette filters are made from insulation (plastic) and they never go away, dropping them on the ground means you are leaving remains that will be there long after all of us are gone,  Please be kind to our neighbors and dispose of filters appropriately.
  9. Vendors must be 18 years of age or be accompanied by an adult or be approved by market management.
  10. Vendors must supervise minor children at all times, meaning children are to be in visual site of their parents at all times. Children are to be escorted by an adult when inside Community Center building. 
  11. Vendors must comply with all municipality rules related to production and sale of their products. This rule includes, but is not limited to requirement standards governing labeling, packaging, display and weight, including scale certification with the Oregon Department of Agriculture Measurement Standards. Failure to conform with such rules and regulations may be grounds for removal from the market. 
  12. Copies of licenses, permits and certifications including COVID vaccination cards  if required by the Health Department must be included with Vendor Applications.
  13. The Vendors are responsible for maintaining up to date licenses and/or permits. 
  14. Vendors will follow all guidelines from the Oregon Farmers Market Association- COVID-19 Resources governing social distancing and wearing face masks/shields (copies of resources are available on file with the market management.) Failure to conform with such rules and regulations may be grounds for removal from the market.  
  15. Application fees are non-refundable. 
  16. Vendors who miss 3 markets without communicating absences with management will be removed from the map and email list, will loose any market fees and will need to re-register to be considered for acceptance to the market.
  17. All Vendors are to provide date of birth for purposes of background checks.
  18. The Waldport Wednesday Market reserves the right to run background checks on vendors and booth workers.

FOOD VENDORS: 

  1. Vendors cooking with open flames at the market are required to have a Class K Fire Extinguisher in their booth area.  Management has a limited number of fire extinguishers for check out upon request. 
  2. Waldport Wednesday Market prides ourselves on being at STYROFOAM FREE market, single use styrofoam containers and styrofoam ice chests are banned in the market area.
