It is expected that any excused absence request be submitted at least TWO WEEKS before the absence date. Rehearsal attendance is the SINGLE most important factor in producing a quality product on the field.

The following are examples of absences that may be excused. It is expected that these are very limited in number and that communication of these absences occurs significantly before the absence date (if applicable) for the absence to be excused.

a. Medical emergency or personal illness - doctor's note requested
b. Death in family
c. Religious Holiday
d. Special Circumstances (events on your calendar before receiving the MM Calendar - family weddings, trips, non-refundable tickets, etc.)

Please understand that the completion of this form does not guarantee that an absence is excused. Some form of absences will not be excused in many circumstances. Please remember that unexcused absences can result in the student being placed on non-performing status. The following are examples of "common" unexcused absences:

a. part-time job
b. trips planned after the distribution of the the Marching Mustang Calendar
c. homework (if homework help is needed, talk to a director)
d. birthday celebrations
