Sally Ride EarthKAM Camp
Mission: Sally Ride EarthKAM Online Program
Experiment Location: On ISS

Homi Lab is excited to present this 4-day international educational program for young learners that will enable them to learn about Earth from the unique perspective of space. Learners get a real-world experience as they get a chance to control a digital camera on-board the ISS, select photography targets, and investigate the pictures they receive.

An EarthKAM mission is a period of time when the camera in an Earth-facing window on the ISS, is made available to students. The EarthKAM online tool shows the orbital paths of the ISS on a world map. Students select locations along these orbital paths, and the camera will take pictures as the ISS flies over those points. The program was initiated by the first American woman in space, Dr. Sally Ride.

Our educators will guide the students to use Sally Ride EarthKAM which will help them to learn about International Space Station, spacecraft orbits and earth photography through software and other learning resources.
