2020-2021 Future Teacher and Future BIPOC Teacher Scholarship Application
The Eugene Education Association (EEA) represents professional educators in the 4J School District and the Bethel School District. The Association is offering 3, $1000 scholarships to help support high school seniors who plan to pursue teaching as a career.
Scholarships will be awarded to three 2021 graduating seniors from a 4J or Bethel high school: North Eugene, South Eugene, Churchill, Sheldon, ECCO, Kalapuya, and Willamette. This year we will be awarding 2 Future Teacher scholarships and 1 Future BIPOC (Black, Indigenous & People of Color) Teacher scholarship. All applicants should be interested in a career in education (K-12 educator, school counselor, speech-language pathologist, special education teacher, etc.)
The criteria used to select recipients will include:
1. Interest in teaching as a career (demonstrated through recommendations, extracurricular activities, and essay),
2. Evidence of academic achievement,
3. References from two teachers,
4. Involvement in school and community activities, and
5. A brief essay.
