Teen Leadership Council Application
To qualify for Teen Leadership Counsel you must have completed a minimum of 20 hours of volunteer work at the library OR 5 hours of volunteer work with our library and a letter of recommendation from another organization that you have volunteered with.

The Mustang Public Library Teen Leadership Council is a prestigious volunteer group of teens who directly impact the purchasing decisions, programming plans, and future development of the library for all teenage users of the library.

What are TLC members expected to do?
* Advise the Youth Services department on materials to order and programs to implement.
* Design and maintain a teen blog or online magazine.
* Promote teen programming and materials in the community through bulletin boards, book displays, and networking.
* Planning and implementing a community volunteer project annually.
* Planning and implementing one library program annually for another age group, with the assistance of the Youth Services Librarian.

What do TLC members get out of the experience?
* Being able to have a say on materials and programs for teens at the Mustang Public Library.
* Opportunity to work on project management, planning, and implementation which can be used in applying for careers and college opportunities.
* Impacting your community in  positive and meaningful way.
* Community service is a positive experience point to put on college and work applications.
