The Region XI awards were established to recognize members of our community who have been active and engaged within the field of international education.  During these difficult times, think about the colleagues who have mentored you and helped you achieve your goals, and please nominate them for an award.

Award Types:

James Leck Distinguished Service: Nominee must have been a member of Region XI for at least 5 years and made significant contributions to the region, or done a special service for the region

Sally M Heym: For a candidate who has served as a mentor and inspiration in the field of international education for at least 5 years.

Rising Professional: For a newcomer to field; this award recognizes a NAFSA member with less than 5 years' experience who has demonstrated a commitment to the field through professional/volunteer activities and is active in regional or national NAFSA.

George Commenator Award: This is a lifetime achievement award for a Region XI member who has provided extensive service to the regional or national NAFSA community.

Please submit the online nomination form and supporting documentation by 5:00 PM on Wednesday, September 30, 2020. Award recipients will be announced at the NAFSA Region XI Closing Ceremony in late October.
