UCEAP Withdrawal Form (Pre-Departure)
Please fill out this form to request to withdraw (pre-departure) from your UCEAP program.

***Your withdrawal is not final until you receive an email or VAC confirmation from our office that it has been processed.*** 

If you have questions or concerns about studying abroad and/or your program, please connect with a UCSD study abroad advisor via drop-in advising or the Virtual Advising Center (VAC) BEFORE submitting this form. This will allow us to discuss any concerns or questions that you might have.

NOTE: If you are requesting to withdraw from your program post-departure, please reach out to your onsite support staff and contact Study Abroad UC San Diego via VAC or abroad@ucsd.edu instead of filling out this form.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

What happens after you submit your request to withdraw
We will send a confirmation via email or VAC that your withdrawal has been processed. If your application is in "nominated" status, we will ask UCEAP to withdraw your application in the UCEAP portal. Depending on your withdrawal date, we will also notify relevant campus units (Office of the Registrar and the UCSD Financial Aid Office). 

Deferring Program Participation
You may not defer your nomination to a subsequent term, but we encourage you to reapply or ask us to transfer your application (when possible).

Academic/Financial Implications
You are strongly encouraged to discuss your intent to withdraw with a study abroad advisor to be certain you fully comprehend the academic and financial implications prior to making your decision.

Reinstating Program Participation
Please note that reinstatement after your withdrawal is processed is highly unlikely and you may not be able to rejoin a program after being withdrawn.

I understand that withdrawal after the UCEAP pre-departure withdrawal deadline is subject to a $500 withdrawal fee assessed by UCEAP in addition to fees for unrecoverable costs.

Withdrawal deadlines can be found in your UCEAP Application by clicking on "Application Submission" and scrolling down to Terms & Conditions. 

Specific fees that may be owed can be found in your UCEAP Application approximately a month prior to your program withdrawal deadline. To view this information, click on "Finances" (left hand side nav bar), then "Fees & Payments" and scroll down to the Package Penalty Disclaimer.
