Social-distancing and remain-in-place requirements across the nation, mandated to address the COVID-19 pandemic are placing added pressures on our community economically, physically, emotionally, and mentally.  As a member-based organization that prioritizes cultivating connections and building community, we would like to continue to create digital opportunities for our members to foster new connections, learn from one another, and continue to assist each other during this time.

We hope that the GreenLatinos Digital Encuentros will serve as an opportunity to connect with old friends and make new ones from within the GreenLatinos network. The diversity of the GreenLatinos Familia is one of our strengths. We are a community of individuals across the country, from different sectors of the movement, ethnic/cultural backgrounds, gender/sexual identities, ages, and beliefs.

Because of these differences, not despite them, we are a stronger network with a broader reach that needs to be actively maintained. In order to do this, GreenLatinos Digital Encuentros will be scheduled throughout the months of April & May, 2020 to provide opportunities for multiple points of connection. We hope these spaces will foster community building that will last well beyond our time together.

Each Encuentro will be led by a community leader who will plan a session and help to recruit members to join the sessions, while ensuring the space remains safe and confidential for all those who participate. These leaders will also be responsible for keeping time and moving along the discussion.

Please note that our April - May sessions are coming to an end on June 5th. Although we will no longer be scheduling Encuentros on a daily basis as we have been, we will still be continuing digital programming for our membership. We encourage you to still submit a proposal if you have an idea for one. We will get back to you about scheduling one over the coming months.
