The B.S. program has concentrations in applied mathematics, biomathematics, general mathematical sciences, mathematics and secondary teacher preparation. The teacher preparation concentration offers, in partnership with the School of Education, a five-year program leading to both an undergraduate major in mathematics and a master’s degree in education.
The accelerated B.S. and M.S. program allows qualified students in the mathematics concentration to earn both the B.S. in mathematical sciences and the M.S. in mathematical sciences with a concentration in mathematics in a minimum of five years by completing approved graduate courses during the senior year of their undergraduate program.
The M.S. program is flexible and is designed to meet the needs of students with a wide variety of interests, backgrounds and career plans. Subject areas of strength include applied mathematics, biomathematics and discrete mathematics.
The M.I.S. (Master's of Interdisciplinary Studies) concentration in interdisciplinary mathematics and science leadership/K-8 mathematics specialist is designed to prepare in-service K-8 teachers to be mathematics specialists.
The doctoral program focuses on the development of the mathematical and computational skills used to model and analyze real-world systems. Faculty and students engage and collaborate to contribute to the knowledge base used in the fields of science, medicine, business and engineering.
