Gathered by Grace's Life Happens Fund Application
Gathered by Grace established the Life Happens Fund to, when possible, assist members of the River Region in times of personal financial emergency. We realize we all may find ourselves in a situation in life where we need the support of the community; Gathered by Grace wants to be able to provide that support. Galatians 6:2 says, "Bear one another’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ."

To be considered for support, complete the application below. If help is needed completing the form, please call 334-544-0472.  Documents supporting your application (i.e., bills, invoices) are required for your application to be complete and should be sent to info@gbgministry.org.

The appropriate way to support approved applications will be determined by Gathered by Grace and may include but is not limited to: paying a third-party for a bill or request on behalf of the applicant, providing gift cards and bus passes, purchasing gifts for Christmas or birthdays. We do not make direct cash payments to applicants.

One form of support available through the Life Happens Fund is one session with a financial counselor at no cost to the approved applicant. Designed to aid in ongoing financial health, approved applicants will meet with a financial counselor and will bring their income and expense information to meet with the counselor, who can help with developing a budget and offer recommendations to help improve the current financial situation.

Any assistance given is a gift and does not have to be paid back. The funding for this effort is provided through donations and grants and the ability to meet a request is limited to the availability of resources for this fund. Completed applications that meet guidelines will be considered for approval if sufficient funds are available at the time of the request.

Applications from a household are limited to no more than once every six months and a lifetime maximum of four applications. Households will be determined by validating the address on the application and on the accompanying bills. Additionally, if a household has previously received funding, in order to be considered for funding again, it will be necessary for the applicant to have participated in Gathered by Grace's financial workshop to be eligible. Financial workshops are offered twice a year in January and July. The cost of the financial workshop is covered by Gathered by Grace. The financial workshop must be completed before a repeat application will be funded.
