The MagNetUS Executive Committee is forming a working group to take charge of the planning process for a Next Generation Solar WInd Machine to isolate, control, and diagnose plasma phenomena responsible for the complex solar wind behavior.  This idea has come up in various workshops, community planning processes, and white papers over the last few years, and was the topic of a successful discussion session at the MagNetUS meeting in June.

This ad-hoc working group will be charged with determining the best way to move the Solar WInd Machine from the idea to the proposal stage. This will involve both soliciting additional community input and coordinating with the various interested funding agencies.
