Application Agreement
In 2020 there will be two sessions of the LIT program (Session I: June 14-July 11 ; Session II July 12-August 8). Each applicant will be able to declare his or her first preference and to answer if he/she is available for either session. There are a total of 32 openings in the program. It is a highly competitive process and we encourage you to submit your completed application and reference letters as soon as possible.

LIT is one of the most memorable and for many, life-changing, experiences at camp for youth. It will challenge you mentally, physically and spiritually as you work to earn certifications in Lifeguarding, First Aid and CPR, Wilderness First Aid, and Sailing. LIT's will also have the opportunity to learn and apply skills and knowledge on how to work with children and youth in a Christian camp setting by delivering the Voyages day camp program.

Who should apply? Anyone who is in the 10th - 12th grade,  has an interest in working with children, and who want to participate in a four week long intensive leadership training program.   Applicants must be 16 years old by the course completion dates.  Prior camper experience at Don Lee is not required to apply.  Participants are selected based on the leadership potential they have demonstrated at school, camp, church or other setting. Each applicant is evaluated on her/his own merits. Preference is given to older, qualified candidates.  Competition is strong, so submit your application and references by deadline.

The early decision deadline for applications is Friday, October 25, 2019. We will notify applicants of acceptance no later than November 1, 2019.  We will select as many LIT candidates as possible from this group of applicants.

If there are still spaces available, the second deadline for applications and references will be January 11, 2020. It is our aim to have the candidates selected for both sessions no later than February 11, 2020. In the past three years, we have not had any spaces available after the first deadline.

We highly encourage that you turn in your application as soon as possible, and keep in contact with your references to make sure that they mail in their reference for you as soon as they can. You may want to pick the letter up from them and mail it yourself. Your application will be considered incomplete until we receive all references and the application.
