Seed Guardians who are community garden members will play a critical role in connecting the Kingston Area Seed System Initiative (KASSI) to their fellow community gardeners. The role will include tasks such as:
- Communicating with their fellow community gardeners about the locally adapted open-pollinated seeds available from KASSI
- Distributing open-pollinated  seeds to their fellow gardeners at their Community Garden
- Growing seed from the KASSI collection in the community garden plots, where possible
- Sharing seed saving educational materials provided by KASSI and partners with their fellow gardeners

We hope that each community garden will have at least one Seed Guardian, and where there are more than one, they will work as a team to split up these duties.
