CONCEPT: 60 musicians from all over the world, learning from each other mostly folk tunes, finishing with tour around Slovenia and ending on Floating Castle Festival. Very intense 24hours musical workshops are upgraded with “Etno Histeria World Orchestra tour” from the sea, to mountains, city centres, as well as prisons, old peoples homes and courtyards. On our way we will stop in the caves, by the lakes, we'll meet the local people, eat, drink and sing with them. The tour will end on site-specific Floating Castle Festival, where you have opportunity to arrange your own concerts and see the outcome of other workshops (stage designers, theatre, movement ...). Many musicians form new bands and groups during the Etno Histeria workshops and their premiere performances take place on Floating Castle Festival.

SELECTION OF PARTICIPANTS: It is really heart warming to see how the interest for Etno Histeria workshops grows with every year, but unfortunately we have limited amount of space, food, water and other logistics, so we will have to make selection of all the participants (max 60). You will be informed about final Etno Histeria World Orchestra 2023 selection until the end of April. If you have some date issues write to etno.histria@gmail.com
PLACE: In Loška Walley in village Kozarišče, right next to castle Snežnik. Sleeping in tents.
The municipality of Loška Valley lies on the southern edge of Slovenia, about 60 km from Ljubljana.
The hilly, mostly forested landscape, the mysterious karst world and the rich history of the Loška Valley offers many surprising experiences, but at the same time the deep peace and serenity of its remoteness.
Combining jams and workshops with musicians from all over the world, embraced by trees, great atmosphere and lovely crew of cooks. We’ll organise bar, all kinds of extra artistic and performative activities and other fancy extra things. Limited access to phone signal and electricity, so we suggest that you bring a powerbank with you. Unlimited access to tunes.
FOOD: Great cooks from Cat’s hill. 3 meals per day (alleater, vegetarian and vegan friendly food)
PROGRAM: Breakfast, workshops from 10.00 to 13.30, lunch, siesta, workshops from 17 to 19.30, dinner, evening activities (jam nights, puppet shows, dance evenings, concerts, etc.).

OTHER WORKSHOPS:
At same place & time there will be other artist workshops (but mainly from 22nd)
- huge puppets, clownery, movement, partner acrobation, stop-motion, impro greek tragedy, free-style rap, stilt walking, joggling gang, vocal impro, stage design
The orchestra will sometimes connect with other artists. We will make some evening activities together. Other artists might ask some musicians to join their performances // installations during the festival (if you will be up for it ) :-)

CAUTION:
Etno Histeria workshops are not for the weak. There is nature camping, unpredictable weather, all night jams, histeria touring, live bears, last minute program changes and all sorts of logistical conundrums. Beware and be ready ;)
