As a partner in Lake County, your feedback regarding the preparedness of our high school graduates and your guidance regarding your future workforce needs are invaluable. We appreciate your participation in this brief survey on these matters. We will use this information to inform and update our Comprehensive Local Needs Assessment plans (CLNA). These plans guide the development of new and enhanced opportunities for Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs that will benefit employers in Lake County.

Guest Speaking - Business and industry professionals volunteer their time to come into the classroom or lab spaces to share their knowledge and insight about a profession.

Career Treks - Career Treks are "career field trips" that connect students with employers in the employer's real-world work setting. In-person field trips (to visit your place of employment) or virtual career chats via Zoom are available.

Informational Interview - An informal conversation between a student interested in a particular occupation and a professional working within that field to learn more about career opportunities.

Mock Interviews - Interviewing is an important part of any application process. This provides authentic opportunities for students to practice their skills in a simulated interview experience.

Job Shadowing - The opportunity for a student to follow and observe a professional and gain insight into that particular work area for a day.

Mentorship - Guidance to an individual or team of students working on real-world problems.

Micro-Internship - The position of a student or trainee who works in an organization, without pay, in order to gain work experience or satisfy requirements for a qualification that runs at least 20 hours.

Internship - The position of a student or trainee who works in an organization, without pay, in order to gain work experience or satisfy requirements for a qualification that runs at least 60 hours.

Apprenticeship - Supervised on-the-job training: a tiered program in which a student learns a profession from a skilled employer having agreed to work for a fixed period. This involves pay as the student advances through the training.

Paid Work Experience (Job) - Hiring a student as a full or part-time employee of your company, working within the career area in which they are looking to pursue.

Advisory Committee Member - A member of your business or organization is willing to sit on an advisory committee to meet with teachers and administrators to offer insight into the industry and advice on content and curriculum being covered within a program.
