Students who graduate from St. Paul Public School must complete 40 hours of community service. Students may start to accumulate community service hours after they have finished their (6th ) sixth-grade year. All hours must be performed outside of school hours. Community service hours accumulated can be found under the “More” menu on the parent/student Infinite Campus account. Seniors must turn in all Community Service Hours before Christmas Break or automatically become ineligible for all extracurricular activities. Students who take senior release must meet the community service requirement by August 1st of their senior year.
DEFINITION: “unpaid, volunteer time served for the benefit of others, primarily for non-profit organizations.” (If the activity is part of a class or group requirement, it will not count. If the members of a group or class are asked to help but not required to, their service will count.) Up to 5 hours of job shadowing that is pre-approved by Mrs. Camden will also be allowed.
The list of organizations/activities that are approved for community service hours is listed in the drop down menu.
If you have another organization/activity for which you plan on volunteering that is not on the list below, you must obtain – in advance - written permission from Mr. Moore or Mrs. Camden.
*Incomplete information or hours for non-approved organizations/individuals will result in hours not being accepted.
