Whereas The Inflation Reduction Act:
-Extends health insurance investments that will lower costs for 13 million people. This investment will prevent 3 million people from losing their health insurance and save the average Affordable Care Act enrollee $800 per year on their premiums
-Caps out-of-pocket expenses for medicare prescription drug prices at $2,000 a year and caps the price of insulin for Medicare recipients at $35 a month
-Cuts Greenhouse gas emissions 40% below 2005 levels by 2030
-Reduce the cost of energy for the average household by $500 a year
-Prevent more than 3,000 premature deaths from air pollution a year
-Pays for itself by making corporations that currently pay $0 in federal taxes pay a minimum of 15% corporate tax, and imposing a 1% surcharge on corporate stock buybacks
-Shrinks the federal deficit by more than $300 billion
Therefore be it resolved, the undersigned organization formally thanks Congresswoman Spanberger for voting for the Inflation Reduction Act.
