Frequently asked questions about our Black and Minority Ethnic, Refugee (BAMER) organisation infrastructure support offer:
Covid19 has been a testing time for our BAMER communities. We are statistically more vulnerable and exposed to this virus. What we have also learnt is that our BAMER organisations need more support so that they are in a position to be able to respond to the needs of their communities, apply for funds and make a more stronger impact.

1- Who are Flowhesion?

The Flowhesion Foundation works across Greater Manchester to help reduce disadvantage and empower BAMER people and organisations to live more equal lives. We have a strong footprint in Bolton where were established and based; having delivered over 28 programmes in the town since we were established. kindly visit our website for more information; www.flowhesionfoundation.org.uk- you can pop in to our office for a chat and cup of tea; All souls, Astley Street, Bolton, BL18EY to speak to our CEO,

2- What are you offering our organisation and why?

We are offering support to BAMER organisations so that they have policies, governance, training and correct support in place so that they are able to work safety with their service users and people. We want each organisation in Bolton to be strong and be able to be in a position where they can apply for their own funding to benefit their communities. We are working with lots of  sports BAMER, cultural, heritage organisations in Bolton already offering this support.

3- Is the support free?

Yes

4- How is it funded?

The Flowhesion Foundation generates 40% of its funding through its own training, research and consultancy streams. We have a dedicated training and development co-ordinator Vanessa Stoneman who works on this. The BAMER infrastructure support work is supported by the funding that Flowhesion generates through its own activities. We are also partnering reputable organisations such as SFI- Strengthening Faith Institutions to provide this support to you.

5- Why are you offering this support now?

The Covid19 pandemic has shown that BAMER people are most affected yet BAMER organisations are the least robust in terms of governance and policies to be able to respond to the pandemic. This means they are not in a position to apply for funding directly to help their communities. We want all BAMER organisations to be strong contributors to their communities and in a position to apply for their own funding.

6- Will our organisations information be shared?

We are GDPR compliant. All information provided to us will be held in the strictest confidence. We are an independent organisation delivering this service for FREE. We are funding this service from our own monies and therefore are not part of any government agenda.

7- Is there anything else I need to know?

We are providing this service free of charge on a limited budget. We kindly request that you therefore keep this in mind when engaging with us.
