Thanks for volunteering to help the PPA for the 2021-2022 school year. Your application for either an Executive Board or Chairperson position must be submitted no later than Wednesday, April 7, 2021. If you have any questions about the PPA or the application, please contact Gayle Stein, PPA Nominating Committee Chair, at gaylephilly@aol.com.

All Chairperson and Executive Board Officer positions are two-year terms. For current chairpersons that have served their two years, you can re-sign up for consideration. No individual may serve as the same committee chairperson unless no one applies for the position and then it becomes a year-to-year commitment with an additional two-year maximum in the same position.

Participation on the Stevenson PPA Executive Board and Chairpersons requires attendance at the monthly meetings which occur approximately 8 times a year. Executive Board Members also meet before the PPA General Meetings. In addition, these roles may require providing additional help at the Open Houses, Orientation, Showcase, etc.

All Chairpersons and Executive Board Members must be a paid member of the PPA (during SHS registration) and have a background check completed through the school (good for 4 years).

PLEASE NOTE: Volunteer signups to help with individual events occur through the SHS Volunteer Sign Up during student registration in the summer.

Co-President (Run PPA meetings, act as liaison to SHS, assist board members when needed)

Co-Vice President (Organize/support on-line directory; coordinate volunteers)

Co-Treasurer (Prepare financial reports for all meetings and SHS; handles all money for PPA)

Corresponding Secretary (Takes minutes at meetings and distributes for approval)

I am interested in the following Committee Chairperson position(s), if available. These are all co-chairperson positions only. (To volunteer at an event, watch for volunteer sign-up during student registration in the summer.)

Freshman Class Reps (Organizing Freshman Mixer, help freshman decorate hallways before Homecoming and Winterfest)

Junior Class Reps (Help juniors decorate hallways before Homecoming and Winterfest)

Bake Sale (Organize volunteers and treats for bi-monthly bake sales)

Staff Hospitality (Organize and serve a fall breakfast and spring lunch for teachers/staff)

Student Treat/Cookie Days (Organize three cookie days per year - Homecoming Friday, Winterfest Friday, and Spring Fling Friday. Two treat days provided before final exams.)

Showcase (Plan and manage the annual Showcase talent show to be held in March. Obtain Angel Volunteers. Manage audition sign-ups, auditions, tech and dress rehearsals. Ensure appropriateness and readiness of all acts. Prepare and print tickets and programs and sell tickets. Secure security, facilities and other necessary resources)

Guidebook Assignment Notebooks (Coordinate the annual student and teacher assignment notebooks with the school and organize the orientation distribution and further selling of the book.)
