About BASF
BASF is one of the most important chemistry producers in the word. In the Netherlands, BASF has more than 1,500 employees who develop, produce and sell raw materials for a wide range of sectors at various locations.
They develop and produce process catalysts in numerous industries, water-based resins, and dispersions for the coating industry, insulations foam and pigments to colour plastic among other products.

1. Definitions

Netherlands Institute for Catalysis Research (NIOK):
NIOK is a virtual institute consisting of Dutch University Groups active in all areas of catalysis. It is a nationwide graduate school (‘Onderzoekschool’) which fosters the advancement of both higher education and research and stimulates collaboration between scientists of different disciplines and Universities. NIOK is recognized by the Royal Netherlands Academy of Sciences (KNAW) and it is supported by an industrial advisory board VIRAN which consists of members from Dutch and multinational industries involved in many aspects of catalytic processes.

NIOK PhD Platform (NPP):
The NPP is an official part of the NIOK research school. It is a platform for and by PhD's to facilitate events that provide direction to the career post-PhD.

Participant:
A PhD student or researcher willing to visit the company/organization discussed herein, that signed-up via the Google Form 'NPP presents: BASF - a visit 2020' and received confirmation of registration provided by NPP via email.

2. General

The Terms and conditions are applied to all participants of 'BASF- a visit 2020'. Deviation of these terms is only possible when agreed upon by three NPP board members and the Scientific Director of NIOK.

3. Deposit

The participant agrees to provide a deposit of €50,- as a guarantee for participating in the event 'BASF - a visit 2020'. Every participant is obligated to transfer the deposit to the treasurer of the NPP via 'Tikkie' (link will be sent in the confirmation email) 21 days before the start of the event.

The deposit is returned to the participant after attending the event 'BASF - a visit 2020' within one month (30 days) starting upon the conclusion of the event.

4. Cancellation

The participant can not cancel the event later than 14 days prior to the event. Cancellation should occur by email as a reply to the confirmation email as provided by NPP.

If sickness or other unforeseen circumstances occur inhibiting the participant from joining the event 'BASF- a visit 2020', compelling evidence has to be delivered to the NPP.

The event 'BASF - a visit 2020' can be cancelled by NPP when the critical limit of participants (as defined by BASF) is not reached or due to cancellations by participants.

5. Transport

The participant agrees to travel to the 'BASF- a visit 2020' event location (Nederland B.V., Strijkviertel 61, 3454 PK De Meern, Netherlands) at own accord and arrive at location on time as specified in the email provided by NPP prior to the event.

6. During the event 'BASF- a visit 2020'

Every participant is obligated to:
- Carry a valid ID-card or passport
- Listen to the instructions of NPP board members
- Listen to the instructions of BASF employees

NIOK, NPP, and BASF are not responsible for any damages a participant may suffer during the event 'BASF - a visit 2020'.

7. Final remarks

A participant not fulfilling these Terms and Conditions will be excluded from current and future NPP events. The deposit will not be reimbursed.

Privacystatement
NPP will only collect the personal information of participants necessary to undertake the trip 'BASF - a visit 2020'. The personal information will be stored in a file accessible to NPP members, and will only be shared to BASF. Unless the participant wants to remain up-to-date with future NPP event, the personal information will be destroyed upon completion of the event and only after reimbursement of the deposit.
