Captain’s Responsibilities:
- Attend mandatory captain's meeting on Sunday, February 25th, from 1-2 PM, prior to evaluations. If you cannot make this meeting, please refrain from applying to be a captain.
- You are required to have played two previous seasons with the Pride Basketball league in your division, for A and B division captains only.
- Attend evaluations and draft your team. Attendance at evaluations is mandatory. If you cannot make the day of evaluations, please refrain from applying to be a captain.
- Maintain communication with your team, including ensuring that you have enough players for the game each week.
- Ensure each player is meeting the minimum 8-minute per half playing time requirement.
- Support the social events and our sponsors by encouraging your team to attend the social events after games.
- Communicate consistently and respond in a timely fashion to the respective Division Vice Commissioner or League Commissioner.
- Foster a safe, positive, and inclusive environment for your team. Ensure everyone is respectful of one another’s race, religion, ethnicity, age, socioeconomic status, disability, sexuality, and gender identity.
- Know, ask, and use your player’s pronouns. Show respect for – and ensure the team is respecting – everyone’s gender identities.
