Hello! First and foremost, thank you for your interest in joining the SHPC board. This organization is only possible thanks to the passion and commitment of members like you! If selected to the board you will be expected to commit to being an officer for the full 2021-2022 school year. What this means is being a part of conducting weekly meetings, representing the  org publicly, maintaining a relationship with each production team and cast by attending at least one rehearsal, and being involved in the fundraising and community events of the org. As a board member you are also responsible for upholding the mission of SHPC.

"It is our organization’s mission to, above all else, make musical theater accessible for the UC Santa Barbara community.  We aim to spread the joy of musical theater with our students, faculty, and the larger Santa Barbara community.  We allow students of any particular experience and background to explore their passion for the theater and arts without the restrictions and pressure of a formalized major. We hope that through our outreach, we can show that the performing arts are not merely for entertainment, but have the ability to deliver powerfully moving statements about society and ourselves."
