We are happy to announce we are now accepting bids to host the 2024 Mountain South WSO Championships. Our ultimate goal is to return to hosting satellite WSO Champs in each state and combining the results to name overall podium winners. We encourage interested bidders from all 4 states to apply. Bids open: March 15-May 4, 2024. Winning bids will be awarded by June 1, 2024.
Events to be held between September 21-November 3, 2024.

**Please note that the board is working on finalizing financial details concerning hosting the WSO Championships. We encourage any interested party to bid knowing that placing a bid to host is not binding, the winning bids have the option to accept or decline if the terms do not meet their expectations.**
Bids must be well organized and contain the following information:
- Venue size/space
- Proposed number of warm up platforms
- Proposed system to be used to run meet (cards vs computer)
- If the applicant is able to host either a two day meet with one platform or a one day meet with two platforms
- Number of bars for each platform including competition platform and for all ability levels (5-20kg bars)
- Number of bumper plates for competition platform (including enough 25 kilo plates) as well as each warmup platform: Indicate how many sets, complete or otherwise that will be provided for each platform.
- Provide any other information the applicant feels relevant
If selected, hosts are responsible for:
- Setup and breakdown of meet
- Providing a well-organized start list from entry info provided in BARS
- Providing a well-organized schedule of competition with appropriate number of athletes per session with given amount of venue space and equipment.
- Providing appropriate number of staff for each session including loaders and TOs.
- Providing all related equipment need for meet including but not limited to: bars, plates, warmup platforms, competition platform, seating for athletes and spectators, etc.
- Providing results to WSO rep and upload to BARS within 7 days of the end of the competition.
If selected, hosts will receive:
- Reimbursement for approved expenses after filling out expense report
- Appropriate reimbursement for hosting as determined by Mountain South WSO
- Mountain South WSO will work in conjunction with host and collaborate on all aspects of competition.
Event Expectations:
- Space and equipment to host a 50+ person meet
- At least one platform meet over 1-2 days depending on the region
- Depending on region, there may be the possibility to host youth/juniors or open/masters over separate weekends – please specify if you have a plan to host one of the above or all categories together.
Please note: In past years, some regions of our WSO (AZ and NM) have had 100+ lifters participate. Preference in these regions will be given to applicants with resources to host a meet of this size.
