Arts on the Horizon, a nonprofit, professional theatre company based in Alexandria, VA whose programming is specifically designed for an audience of children ages 0-6, is holding a virtual open call for DC-area designers and stage managers for the 2021-22 season. Performances are 20-30 minutes in length and primarily take place during the morning hours. Arts on the Horizon’s productions are nonverbal, interactive, and incorporate physical theatre, object manipulation, and dance. Music is an integral component.

For rehearsals and performances, stage managers are paid a weekly salary of $400-$425. For workshops, stage managers are paid $20-$23/hour.
Designers are paid $800-$1,800 per project, depending on the production needs. Productions usually have between one and three performers, a minimal set, and do not have any costume changes. Most productions rely heavily on props and objects.
