GCDC Winter 2023 Model United Nations Training Conference Registration

The Global Classrooms DC (GCDC) Model UN Training Conference will take place during the week of January 16th, 2023 (final date to be posted upon venue confirmation) from 9:00AM - 5:30PM (online if there is inclement weather). This training conference will have committees at three different levels - beginner (0-1 year of Model UN experience), intermediate (2-3 years of Model UN experience) and advanced (3+ years of Model UN experience).

Students will discuss three various topics across 3 different sized committees, and represent countries. Students will be in double delegations for the beginner level, double or single for the intermediate level, and single delegations (1 student representing 1 country) in the advanced committee (unless otherwise requested). The conference background guide and other preparation materials will be emailed to schools upon receipt of registration and payment. As a reminder, regardless of familiarity with parliamentary procedure of Model UN, ALL students are welcome to sign up and attend the conference.

This year, the advanced committee will be a crisis committee session. Students will be confronted with a situation related to the topic, and impacted by their debate and resolutions in committee and represent members of the UN Security Council. Even if the student has some Model UN experience, but would like to gain more practice with crisis committees, they are welcome to sign up for the committee.

This year, the GCDC Winter Training Conference will be open to all to register and attend, though GCDC Community Groups will receive priority status for assignments.

COUNTRY ASSIGNMENTS: Will be provided by GCDC once payment has been received. We will send you an invoice shortly after this form is submitted.

Groups will not be able to attend the conference without submitting necessary conference payment.
