Thank you for your interest in the Museum of Discovery’s Girls in STEM Program. This program allows girls interested in science, technology, engineering, or math (STEM) careers to interact with our dedicated team of mentors made up of female STEM professionals from across the state. Through enriching conversations, field trips to educational institutions and businesses, and fun hands-on activities, participants will learn more about pursuing careers in STEM fields.

All new applicants must be entering the seventh grade in the 2020-2021 school year, to be eligible. This program is one week long, and is FREE for those who are chosen to participate. Applications are due by Friday, April 24th. We have a limited number of placements for each week, so please apply early. Please make sure your application is complete, and all references are returned, before the deadline. Incomplete applications or applications submitted after the deadline will not be considered. Also, make sure that both of your references are submitted through the Google application and not to my email.

This year, the five weeks will run concurrently, meaning that we will have a group of new girls and a group of returning girls all within the same week. This model allows us to reach more girls without extending the number of weeks in the summer. As you will see in sections 7&8, all five weeks are listed because of the stacked weeks model. Please choose your top two dates and be prepared to commit to either of the two dates that you choose. If you can only commit to one date, only choose that one date as your first option. Please be advised that there will only be two Little Rock weeks to choose from instead of three, this year. Remember that transportation, to all of the sites, is the girl's responsibility.
