Garage Sale Beta Test!

We're running a small beta test to polish our game, Garage Sale, before its release in the next few months, and we'd love your help!

Our beta should be launching via Steam on March 22, and we'll let you know if you've been chosen as a beta tester a few days before. If you're chosen, you'll have about 5 days to complete the game from the 22nd, and it should take you anywhere from 1-5 hours to beat. We'll also ask you for feedback after. If you're interested, please apply before March 19, and please only apply if you're free during these dates and have a Steam account you can redeem your key with!

This is the first time we're really exporting a build of our game, and we're still finding some bugs, so it's possible the game will crash or cause some other frustration. That being said, if you're up for dealing with some potential issues, we'll be on deck the whole time to troubleshoot — and it is otherwise very playable and will be a fun way to get to play the game before anybody else does!

KEYS:

We're a small team, so depending on how many people sign up, we likely won't be able to let everybody test our game. We'll mainly be picking testers based on demographics so we can get a wide range of people playing the game before launch, so please don't feel bad if you aren't chosen! We appreciate your signing up <3

HARDWARE:

Garage Sale was mostly developed on Macs (and a really terrible PC), so it should run on pretty much any computer! We are not yet sure about Steam Deck support (if you have a Steam Deck and would be willing to test it out, let us know!). It also has lots of new sound, so you'll want either headphones or a speaker to listen with.

ACCESSIBILITY:

We are currently working on developing a few more accessibility features (keyboard navigation in our menus and an option to turn off moving / colored text), but due to our timeline as students, we have to launch this round of testing before these features are in the game. This is an unpaid opportunity as our game has no budget, but you will be credited! (Psst... if you join our Discord server, we'll also give you a cool beta tester role.)

NDA:

If you're chosen to test the game, we'll ask you to agree to not share most details. Please do NOT apply if you're looking to stream or cover the game — we'll have keys for those purposes right before launch!
