“PACK IT UP” is a program growing out of the reality of hunger in our community, especially concerning the number of children whose last meal of the day is their school lunch. “PACK IT UP” exists as a community endeavor to ensure that all children have access to a nutritious and filling meal to take home 4 days of the school week. Pack It Up is run under the umbrella of Coopersville UMC at 105 N 68th Ave., Coopersville, MI 49404. 616.997.9225.

Volunteers are needed on Monday mornings between 9 AM and 10:30 AM at Church of the Saviour 180 68th Ave. N, Coopersville, to prepare the meal bags throughout the school year. Anyone ages 5-95 can be a volunteer - individuals, families, businesses, clubs, churches, or service organizations.

Food Preparation at Church of the Saviour *

Sandwich Making - Making peanut butter sandwiches and placing them in a sandwich bag.

Snack Preparation - Packaging snacks in bags.

Bag Stuffing - Placing 5-6 items in a paper bag.

Sandwich Making - Monday – 9:00–10:30 AM - Every other week.

Snack Preparation - Monday – 9:00–9:45 AM - Every week.

Bag Stuffing - Monday - 9:45 – 10:30 AM - Every week.

Health Precautions: *

Just a reminder that you can't wear open toed shoes, such as flip flops or sandals, while working with the food preparation and bag stuffing positions. Please stay home if you are not feeling well.
