SPARK Learning Lab exists to improve the lives of Indiana’s children by equipping early childhood education providers with the tools, coaching and training they need to succeed.
As a core component of our programming, SPARK recognizes the unique perspectives providers have to offer. That’s why we’ve created the Statewide Advisory Council, an organization that gives Indiana providers an opportunity to share their voices and actively shape the quality of care available in Indiana.
To support and unify programming, the Regional Advisory Council is transitioning to the Statewide Advisory Council. The council will be comprised of a diverse group of experts from every corner of the state.
The SPARK Statewide Advisory Council will inform each element of services, programs, and resources. Your expertise and support to help us achieve our goals and fulfill our mission of serving Indiana’s early care and education professionals.
We’re searching for passionate providers to serve on the Advisory Council, who value the opportunity to make meaningful changes to our training, coaching and resources. Your perspectives and opinions are vital to SPARK. Take the next step by applying for the council.
Purpose:
SPARK Learning Lab established the Statewide Advisory Council in the state of Indiana. The purpose of the council is to strategically aid, advise and collaborate on TA processes, to ensure alignment of the work, and to obtain expert and program insights regarding the TA approaches and processes.
Statewide Advisory Council members also act as ambassadors for SPARK Learning Lab within their local, state, and national networks. This means that Members bring the perspectives of programs in their region, not just representing their program, and promote the Advisory Council meetings, as well as the services that SPARK Learning Lab provides, with these groups.
If you are interested in joining the Statewide Advisory Council, please complete this application by 5:00 pm on Thursday, May 9th, 2024. Please contact Council@indianaspark.com with any questions!
Composition and Membership
The Statewide Advisory Council consists of 10-15 members. Membership selections are made to ensure the Council is representative of each region. SPARK endeavors to ensure that Members are geographically and linguistically diverse, reflecting the early childhood and out of school time workforce in Indiana, and represent the following:
Early childhood education programs: Both teachers and directors who represent all program types at various quality levels (i.e. not enrolled in PTQ, enrolled in PTQ but not progressing, and advancing in PTQ, etc.).
Individuals interested in joining the Statewide Advisory Council are asked to submit a membership application. The application will include information regarding:
Individual background information
Professional role
Program or Agency affiliation
Experience in early childhood education
Past experiences receiving or providing technical assistance
Reasons for wanting to join their Statewide Advisory Council and
