Learn GIS with QGIS

In this introductory workshop, we will learn about geospatial data and fundamentals, using the free, open-source QGIS software as our medium.

  • This workshop is geared toward total beginners, with little to no GIS experience, who want to learn about what GIS can do, and the basics for working with spatial data.
  • Computers and data will be provided, but you are welcome to bring your own laptop with QGIS (version 3.16 or newer) installed, or your own data to explore.
  • Free, and open to all interested mappers, from CSU or beyond.
  • QGIS is a free, open-source, desktop GIS program that works on Windows or Macs. It can be downloaded from here: https://www.qgis.org/en/site/forusers/download.html
