Supporters of a just Wisconsin budget are gathering at UW-Whitewater in Whitewater, WI on Friday, April 9th. We are many groups that support one or more of the 6 budget priority areas identified in the Coalition for a Just Wisconsin Budget's "Call for a Just WI Budget":
* Worker/Economic Justice ($15/hour minimum wage, worker rights, Covid relief for all workers.)
* Health and Safety Justice (Expand BadgerCare - accept the $1.6 billion - Save money, insure more people!)
* Legalize and Tax Marijuana (Freedom and Big Revenue Boost for WI)
* Climate Justice (Green Jobs, Energy Conservation, Office of Environmental Justice, Clean Transportation)
* Criminal Justice Reform (Close 2 Facilities, Increase Treatment Alternatives and Diversions Funding)
* Education Justice (Full 2/3 funding for public schools, High Quality Education for Every Child)

We believe that the Joint Finance Committee should be providing more covid-cautious virtual opportunities for Wisconsinites to share their public testimony, and we are calling on them to do so. (They have scheduled only one virtual hearing on April 28th)
