Indigenous Music Ecology
Where do you begin on a journey to create not just "folk music", but meaning for yourself and for a larger indigenous community? Join Pushpa Palanchoke as she discuss action research, an intriguing method of approaching indigenous music traditions. Recognize some important projects that you can start within or near your community by learning about the ecology of indigenous music.

Pushpa is an applied ethnomusicologist who believes in community musicking. She conceived a community-based program,  Folk Lok, in 2019. Currently, she is actively engaged as a coordinator for the program under Satori Center for the Arts. She has been able to create an intimate and trustworthy relationship with Tahnani Dapha Khalah, a local music group from Kirtipur.
