Complete this form in order to register for the Luzerne Intermediate Unit (LIU) Classroom Monitor training course.

This course, approved by PA Department of Education, is meant to serve as the Intermediate Unit-developed training course in accordance with Act 33 of 2023 that authorizes Classroom Monitors. Classroom Monitors are adults, aged 25 years and older that have attained the necessary background and clearance requirements under PA School Code and the Child Protection Service Law. Additionally, eligible participants must have earned at least 60 semester hours or equivalent courses at an accredited college or university in the Commonwealth, or at least three years of experience as a paraprofessional. The final qualification that will authorize the provision of a Classroom Monitor certificate by an employer is the successful completion of an Intermediate Unit-developed training course meant to focus on effective classroom management.

Upon successful completion of this course, participants will receive via email a Classroom Monitor Certificate of Course Completion that is needed in order to attain appropriate PA Department Education certification as a Classroom Monitor. The LIU Classroom Monitor training course is entirely online and will run asynchronously - meaning that there are no live meetings and you can complete the course at your own pace.

Once your information is submitted by completing this form, the LIU Office of Professional Learning will send you an email notification that will instruct you on how to access the course content. The course will take approximately 6 hours to complete and will require the use of a computing device (laptop, Chromebook, tablet, etc.) with access to the internet.
