Dear UPS Parents,

On Thursday, August 6th, our School Committee voted to endorse the administration's recommendation to begin the 2020-21 school year in a hybrid model. In a hybrid model, student learning takes place in school 2 days per week and remotely 3 days per week.  Preschool and kindergarten students, as well as students in  our Independence Project, will be at school for in-person instruction five days per week. Additional students in grades 1-12 may be recommended to attend in-person five days per week due to their individual needs. Based on ongoing student assessment data, students may be added to or removed from the five day in-person model throughout the year.  

As parents, you have a choice to have your child  participate in this hybrid model or choose to have your child learn remotely.  Since social distancing is a key mitigation strategy to stopping the spread of the coronavirus, in order to ensure it in each school, we need to predictably know the number of students each and every day.  Therefore, your choice of hybrid or remote learning will be locked in for the first eight weeks of school.  Please know that any choice that you make may be rendered moot should public health data warrant a move of the entire school district into a remote learning model.  

We are asking that you complete the brief survey below once FOR EACH CHILD that you have in Uxbridge Public Schools. Please answer every question fully and thoughtfully, as this will commit your child to the model of your choice for the first eight weeks of school.

Information regarding our fall plans can be found on our website to assist you in your decision making.  In addition, parent information meetings will be held for each school following the schedule below.  As always, feel free to reach out to building or district administration for any specific questions that you may have.
