NC Newspaper Digitization 2023-2024
It's time for North Carolina Digital Heritage Center's annual round of microfilmed newspaper digitization! We're asking cultural heritage institutions in North Carolina to nominate papers from their communities to be digitized. We're especially interested in newspapers covering underrepresented regions or communities, and newspapers that are not currently available in digital form elsewhere online.

If you'd like to nominate a paper, please complete the form below. More information about the criteria we use to choose which papers to digitize can be found on our blog.

We typically only digitize 5-10 microfilm reels per partner. Please list the years you'd prefer we start with, if chosen.
Does your organization have this microfilm and would it be willing to lend the reels for digitization? If so, please list the number of reels you have. If you don't have the reels or would not be able to lend them, please list where alternative reels are located.
Are you able and willing to contact the current or previous publisher or their heirs to obtain permission to digitize this paper? If not, please write a short description why.
The goal of our newspaper digitization program is to provide access to a broad geographic, social, political, and ethnographic array of publications from NC. We are especially interested in underrepresented communities or areas that currently have little representation on DigitalNC. Is there anything you'd like us to consider about this newspaper that you feel makes it a strong candidate?
