WAITLIST - 2023 Season Registration Form - NEW Players

WE ARE NOW WAITLISTING ANY INTERESTED PLAYERS - We were overwhelmed within minutes of registration going live and are now beyond capacity.

We will be contacting everyone on our waitlist to let them know their status. For those who did not make it, we will be inviting a limited number to join our assessment, in the event we need a replacement before or after the draft, or at any time during the season. Any replacements BEFORE the Draft, go in order of registration priority. Any replacements AFTER the Draft, are done according to skill match up, to ensure parity.

Games will be played on Sundays between May 7th and September 17th (weather permitting)
Games will alternate between 8-9:30am, 9:30-11am, and 11-12:30pm
Games will be played primarily at Birchwood Park, in Mississauga.

This season's fee is $175 and will include:

If space is available, you will be instructed to make a $50 registration deposit, the $125 balance to be paid after your assessment attendance on March 19th. It is your assessment attendance (not your 'performance') that confirms your registration.
If space is not available, you will be added to the waitlist. A limited number will be invited to our assessment on March 19th in case a replacement player is needed. (Replacements prior to the Draft are done in order of registration, replacements after the draft are done according to skill)

🚨 Mandatory Assessment for New Players 🚨 *

Anyone who did not play in the 2022 Season must attend a mandatory assessment in order to be considered a replacement player for registered players who drop out during the season. Any replacements are done according to skill match up, to ensure parity.

You will be contacted once the next assessment is scheduled.

Volunteering *

We are nothing without our volunteers! We rely heavily on our volunteers to ensure a successful season. Please indicate below where you can help. All positions will be under the supervision of an SSL Board Member

Fundraising Committee - assist in outlining community engagement opportunities for SSL league members and promote such initiatives

Social Media Committee - assist in gathering video footage from our weekly games to be used for social media updates

Events Committee - assist in organizing SSL events in social setting outside of weekly games

Scorekeeping Committee - assist in recording weekly game stats by use of scorebooks or tablets

Grants Committee - assist in researching, identifying and applying for available grants that would apply to SSL

Sponsorship Committee - assist in approaching and communicating with businesses and organizations that may be interested in becoming an SSL sponsor

Waiver Information *

(1) NO PREGNANT PLAYERS - If you become pregnant, you must inform your team captain immediately. (2) SSL, including but not limited to, the City of Mississauga, its affiliated sponsor, or any individual involved in the league are not, in any way liable for any injury sustained/incurred to players throughout the course of the softball season, including exhibitions, practice, regular season games, playoffs or social events. (3) SSL is a draft league and each player will be drafted each year to a team (once drafted, players will not be traded) (4) All players must be 18 years of age or turning 18 in 2023 to be eligible to play. Proof of age may be requested. (5) All payments are NON REFUNDABLE and NON TRANSFERABLE. (6) SSL has the right to refuse registration. (7) A complete rule book will be posted on the website prior to the start of the season. (8) SSL may be photos taken during the year for posting on the website, social media or other promotional purposes. (9) Players can be asked to leave if the Board deems a player's conduct as unacceptable. The Board, Captains, Co-Captains and players represent SSL at all times while on the field. (10) All players must adhere to Islamic etiquette and player code of conduct as outlined in the by-laws
