It’s that time of the year again! The time we launch our Reverse Advent Calendar (RAC)! We are incredibly excited to launch our seventh annual RAC appeal. Things have changed a lot for us over the past year, we have moved into a new premises at Radford Road Church, we have also settled in well to our new storage facility in a local railway arch. Each year we are amazed at the support our local community provides us and we hope you would like to join us again in supporting vulnerable and homeless individuals in our area. 

Homelessness remains a pressing issue in our community. Your contributions to our RAC appeal will go a long way in providing essential items and support to our guests, making a meaningful impact in their lives.  We currently provide meals for between 60 -70 people each weekend and provide an average of 40-60 food parcels each weekend for our local community. We also are currently offering a warm overnight stay for approximately 15 people each weekend. We could not provide our services without the amazing generosity of the people in Leamington Spa and surrounding towns and villages. 

The RAC remains the same process year on year, however if you need a little reminder of how we run the RAC, here we go!

Just like an Advent Calendar, we will be revealing a new item that we need every day, but instead of receiving something yourself, you donate it to LWS! We have attached a list of all 24 items to this email, but will also be posting each item daily on social media, which you can add to a box at home/work/school (we ask that you don't post the full list on social media so people can play along each day, please). You can then deliver your ‘homemade calendars’ to LWS Night Shelter on or around Christmas Eve for our guests to enjoy!  Drop off information will be released nearer the time :-) 

All items we ask for will be things that we regularly use or give out to our guests. We have also added to the bottom of the RAC other items that we also use frequently! We appreciate that some items cost more than others and that all items can add up, so please donate as you feel able.  

Please consider donating your time to the shelter. We are regularly in need of volunteers to keep the shelter open throughout the year. Thank you for your kindness and dedication to our cause.
