Social Sciences & X-risk Reading Group Signup - Spring '21
Hello, all!

We are organizing an intro-level reading group for Social Sciences & Existential Risks (over Zoom). Our goal is to gain insights from the social sciences into how we can help protect future generations from irreversible harms. This will be the second round of this reading group (with mostly the same content as the first round), due to high demand.

Here's a week-by-week outline of our current topic plan:

1) Existential Risk Reduction as a Global Priority
2) Coordination Catastrophes and Climate Change
3) Threats From Unilateralism - Nuclear War and Engineered Pandemics
4) Decision Making Amidst Uncertainty and Chaos
5) Steering Transformative Tech - AI Governance
6) War - Causes and Dangers
7) Risks of Long-Term Authoritarianism
8) Governing for the Future

We'll meet on Sundays from 11 AM-12 PM PDT (i.e. 2-3 PM EDT, or 7-8 PM BST) for seven weeks, starting on 11th April (two Sundays from now or fewer, depending on when you're reading this).

If you would want to participate in discussions or just generally stay in the loop, sign up here!
