You are supporting Ken on his '1:1 hours' in his flat. Ken has a routine where staff support him to do household tasks each afternoon and you support Ken to complete his tasks. Ken wants to play video games and has said to you, “I don't want to do my jobs today, it's my choice”. How would you respond? What would you do?

I would tell Ken he needs to complete his jobs or he can't play video games

Encourage Ken to do some of his jobs with support and then he can play his games

Switch off the console and remove it until the jobs are done

Just ignore the task and leave it until tomorrow

Beatrice has come down to the communal area and is shouting at others in there causing a commotion and upsetting people. What would you do?

Speak to Beatrice in a calm manner to find out what is going on and how you can help

Tell Beatrice to leave the communal room immediately in a stern voice

Call Beatrice's Mum to tell her what she has done and ask her to speak to them

Ask the other people in the communal room to leave until Beatrice has calmed down

You have been supporting Charlotte on and off over the week and have noticed that Charlotte has been coughing a lot. You have asked Charlotte if she would like you to call her doctors and make an appointment, but she replies no, she is fine. While on shift with her over the weekend, you have noticed that Charlotte is declining her food and appears unwell. What do you do?
